In this episode, you will learn about Licensed Therapist Andrea Beardsley-Glover. She shares her journey through burnout, the causes and how she overcame it. She discusses the importance of keeping focus and prioritizing goals in your practice. Also, keeping the focus on what you can and letting go of what you can’t control. Andrea stresses the importance of scheduling self-care time in your calendar and structuring work hours.
Andrea graduated from Seton Hall University in 2015 with my Masters in Professional Counseling. She continued with her education and received my Post-Masters Certificate in Sport Psychology from The University of California at Pennsylvania. She currently holds her provisional certification as a Certified Consultant for the Association of Applied Sport Psychology. Andrea moved to Raleigh in 2016 and created, MentPhys Wellness PLLC. Her work with clients stems from concepts and theories of cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. She specializes in performance anxiety, body image issues, perfectionism, life transitions, addiction, and OCD. She strives to increase her clients’ self-esteem through the activities of physical exercise, mental skills training, relaxation, and calming techniques, yoga, focus and concentration techniques, and positive self-talk. Her overall goal is to provide clients with the help that she was unable to receive at the time of her own knee injury and to increase their knowledge of what it truly means to be mentally fit.
