With COVID 19 there is an increase in burnout among healthcare professionals. In this episode, I interview Amy Weintraub and she shares her journey through depression. When she began to practice yoga, her mood improved, and she became passionate about sharing what had transformed her life with others who suffered. Many of whom have experienced struggles with mood and depression. She shares about her upcoming book “Temple Dancer” and takes readers on a journey through the yoga philosophy behind the two tragic tales and the enigma that entwines the lives of two unlikely souls.
She shares her life force yoga program which helps Therapists and Healthcare workers to incorporate yoga into therapy sessions. She discusses the amazing positive impact this has on the therapeutic relationship. Amy discusses ways burned-out healthcare providers who may be depressed can get started with yoga to help them overcome. She discusses simple 2-minute yoga interventions you can use to help. She demonstrates a mantra with a mudra and an image that is soothing and a breathing exercise. She discusses the reasons for using sounds and chanting to help soothe the nervous system.
