Episode 7: Burnout Prevention Tool: Nurturing the Parts of Self

In this episode, you will hear about Suzanne’s journey with burnout including her emotional, behavioral and physical symptoms and
how she overcame. She discusses Virginia Satir’s Parts of Self/ the Mandala. The parts of self include 8 key parts of self and how if they are nurtured she feels more balanced. The 8 parts include Emotional, Intellectual, Sensual, Nutritional, Physical, Spiritual, Contextual and Interactional.

Suzanne is inspired by the light of the human spirit and holds hope in believing change is always possible. With this foundation, she runs a private practice in Chapel Hill, NC. In addition to therapy and coaching, Suzanne enjoys teaching and presenting to both clinicians and people in the community. She also serves as a member of the UNC Satir Program teaching team.

Suzanne earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in Business from East Carolina University and a Master of Social Work degree with the Substance Use & Addictions Specialist Certification from UNC-Chapel Hill. Her professional interests meet at the intersection of substance use disorders, trauma, codependency, ongoing family conflict, and the process of change.
